Join Jim Edgar as we get the kinks out of your voiceover recording setup. Bring your burning studio setup and audio quality questions to this special VO Peeps event. Jim will talk you through the most commonly encountered challenges standing between you and pro-quality home recordings, demonstrate proper microphone positioning, demystify audio settings and share some key tools for that extra polish on your auditions. Learn some studio tricks, refine your recording workflow, and gain confidence for your next home recording session.

Participants will receive a link to submit their audio for a tuneup directly from Jim!

About Jim

Jim Edgar works as a full time voice actor from his studio in northern California. A lifelong love of characters and storytelling led him to voiceover in 2007. He regularly provides VO for video games, narration, eLearning, audiobook, and commercial projects. A few of his favorite roles have included a talking scoreboard for the San Francisco 49ers asking existential questions, a significantly unhinged Birdman of Alcatraz, and a Stormtrooper ornament aggressively guarding holiday presents. He has been a performance and technical recording instructor through Berkeley Rep School of Theatre and Voice One SF, and has given voiceover recording presentations at World-Voices.org conventions.

Jim found that the many hours spent in recording studios over the years provided the expertise to help other voice actors set up great sounding workspaces. Jim brings a deep understanding of recording technology and software, all from the perspective of a working voice actorHe has assisted hundreds of actors to set up home recording studios, get their sound sorted out, and focus on being brilliant behind the mic.
